It worked fine until I tried to update it. Now I spent the money on software that won't work. It's been a week since I originally complained and am getting the runaround,

According to our purchase policy all registered users can download free upgrades within the major version. All further upgrades can be purchased with 50% discount. This can be derived from Eltima Upgrade policy page
I just want it to work again and it's taken too much effort. I've called, emailed and filled out their online forms.
Go with another company - They all offer the same product (flash decompiler) but OTHERS will hopefully NOT disable your software for clicking on 'update' after you've paid good money.
Just my opinion after dealing with customer service this week!

As for the Ribbon: we use the commercial library. The authors of this library will contact Microsoft if there are any issues or claims.
If you look at SWF Decompiler by Sothink you will discover that it is absolutely different from Flash Decompiler Trillix by Eltima. BTW, SWF Decompiler by Sothink doesn't feature editing SWF files and doesn't support batch decompilation, not mentioning a lot of other features offered by our Flash Decompiler Trillix.

i hope the author has been in discussion with microsoft about using the ribbon ui .. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ribbon_(computing). i also wonder if there are any differences between this and other alternatives. the interface looks an awful lot like sothink swf decompiler.

This sounds like a brilliant idea and I could have used it a while ago.

Flash SWF Decompiler is a powerful application for Flash designers which allows you to extract sounds, images, videos, fragments, fonts, etc.
With just one click you will be able to see and extract all those elements or even export them to different formats.
Furthermore, in its full version you can convert the files to FLA so they are totally adaptable with Adobe Flash.
The sounds can be saved in WAV or MP3, the images in PNG, JPEG and BMP, the videos as FLV and the texts as RTF, TXT or HTML. Furthermore, it´s possible to transform the SWF file without having to turn it into FLA.
